Located in Western North Carolina with more than 20 years of experience with working with students on the autism spectrum.  I am a North Carolina certified teacher, deemed highly qualified according to IDEA in areas of special education Reading/Language Arts, Science, Social Studies as well as Middle School and High School Reading/Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies curriculum.  I gained my Bachelors of Science degree in Behavioral Science from Granite State College in Northern New Hampshire and have taken various courses through the University of North Carolina in the latest instructional and behavioral modification practices.  Utilizing Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) practices, such as Discreet Trial Training, Functional Behavior Analysis, Behavior Intervention Plans, Positive Behavior Interventions and Support, I work directly with teachers, teacher assistents and administrators to deliver the educational and social programming that is needed.  I work in the home or classroom creating functional communication systems, instructing social skills training, instruction in reading based programs.  Workshops in behavior management can also be provided upon request.
